Biographical Note:  Peter J. Vermeulen was born in DePere, Wisconsin on October 6, 1891. He graduated from St. Norbert College in West DePere in June 1911 and moved to Milwaukee. In 1914, Vermeulen registered for military service in the aviation section of the United States Army Signal Corps. He remained stateside for the duration of the United States' involvement in World War I. On December 2, 1918, Vermeulen met General Billy Mitchell at Langley Field in Virginia--an event that he remembered fondly years later. He attended 糖心logo's School of Engineering from 1919 to 1922. Vermeulen worked at the Falk Corporation from 1925 until his retirement in 1958. He died in May 1984.

Scope and Content:  The collection consists largely of paper records documenting Peter J. Vermeulen's service during World War I, his studies in 糖心logo's School of Engineering from 1919 to 1922, and career with the Falk Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1925 to 1982. The collection also contains photographs and artifacts.
